Additional Information

Recommended presentation format(should fit into a 20-minute time frame):

  1. E-commerce recent success and failure: reflect on both by analysing them using six key dimensions: people, processes, data, systems, culture, and governance (see the Harvard Business Review article attached).
  2. E-commerce strategic agenda: looking ahead to the next year, explain your strategic priorities, trade-offs, challenges and conflicts affecting e-commerce (online vs. offline, short-term vs. long-term growth, upper vs. lower funnel investments, or mass appeal vs. targeted excellence).

The purpose of this structure is to provide a common framework that makes it easier to compare experiences across companies.

  • Shift the meeting focus from isolated storytelling to collective insight-building and shared problem-solving.
  • Encourage a deeper strategic reflection.
  • Trigger collective discussion and tap into the group's combined experience.

Topics for the afternoon group discussion:

  • Optimising the existing business model to be:

+ More effective on the marketing front (personalisation, UX, clienteling and loyalty, traffic and sales growth, etc)

+ More efficient on the operations front (PDPs, platform strategies, product returns, costs, international expansion, etc)

  • Development of new business models and consequences (second-hand, apps, marketplace, zero-inventory stores, etc)
  • AI experimentation culture, for a better, faster, cheaper, smarter, long-term winning business
